Actually, I'm rather looking forward to it.
I've never been proud of being human. I don't think the species reserves any bragging rights. The mere possession of the "higher" brain functions does not automatically guarantee any efficacy in their use.
Absolutely NOTHING better strengthens my case than a visit to a convenience store at 3am. Oh, the humanity. The finest cross section of wierdos 'round these parts. And the total is weirdness is greater than the sum of the weirdness of its parts. You've got the last tattooed, pierced belly button stragglers on the way home from the bar. You've got the nurses in scooby-doo scrubs just getting off a shift. You've got people who are acting like it's the middle of the day and nothing is unusual and they just aren't fooling anybody. You've got the shirtless guy from Delaware sitting in his truck in the parking lot. You've got the employees arguing over the meritlessness of somebody's fiancee. And you've got a sandwich maker that doesn't put tomatoes on a sandwich even though i specifically ordered tomatoes.
And every last one of them is absolutely terrified of ending up old and alone. They said so themselves.
I assume the entire city of Hong Kong has a similar vibe on any given night.
