They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. But some apples roll a little once they hit the ground. Occassionally the tree is next to a river and the apple falls in the water and is swept downstream, perhaps all the way to the ocean. And there’s an infinitesimally small but definite statistical chance that the apple could, in mid fall, completely disappear, only to rematerialize somewhere on the surface of mars.
